*The above amount is based on a top step officer with an Advanced POST Certificate and a Bachelors Degree. This also includes city medical benefits, shooting pay, uniform allowance, holiday pay, and 9% employee contribution to PERS retirement paid by the City of Burbank.
POLICE RECRUIT ENTRY LEVEL AND LATERAL OFFICER TEST ANNOUNCEMENT!
The police recruit selection process is conducted in three parts and takes place in the following order: Written Exam, Agility Exam, and Oral Exam. You must pass the written exam before you can proceed to the agility and oral exams. Police recruits do not need to complete an application prior to testing. Lateral Officers may participate in this examination process, after contacting Human Resources to complete an application.

Location: Buena Vista Library, 300 N. Buena Vista Street, Burbank
- No application required, walk-ins welcome
- Official picture ID is required for entrance
- Form a line outside the main library entrance on Buena Vista Street
- DO NOT LINE UP PRIOR to 8:30 AM
- DO NOT PARK IN THE LIBRARY PARKING LOT
- The written examination will take approximately two hours
Physical Agility Exam (Recruits and Laterals):
Practice Agility Date: Thursday, January 21, 2010
Actual Test Date: Friday, January 22, 2010

- RECRUITS MUST HAVE WRITTEN PROOF OF A PASSING SCORE FROM THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND BE SCHEDULED FOR THE PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PRACTICE AND ACTUAL PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST
- LATERALS MUST CONTACT HUMAN RESOURCES AND RECEIVE APPROVAL PRIOR TO TAKING THE PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST
- Comfortable athletic clothing and athletic shoes are required
