The Burbank Civic Pride Committee is a group of citizens appointed by the City Council to encourage and promote civic involvement and pride in our community, as well as perform other advisory functions that may be delegated to it. Members serve two year terms; half of the committee is appointed each year in May when the City Council makes their appointments.

Some of the Burbank Civic Pride Committee's on-going efforts include:

I Love Burbank buttons - a popular item which the Committee has distributed for several years.

Plant-a-Tree Project - raises funds from the community every March to plant more trees in City parks.

Make a Difference Day - a community-wide volunteer effort to collect food donations for the Burbank Temporary Aid Center.

Holiday Outdoor Decorating Contest - By recognizing residents who decorate their homes, the Committee encourages a feeling of hometown pride.

Get Out the Vote - During past Burbank elections, the Committee has conducted a campaign to encourage registered Burbank voters to vote in the local elections, using street banners, ads in the newspaper, signs on the sides of the refuse trucks, and 'vote' buttons.

Civic Pride Booths - The Committee distributes City information and promotes civic pride by hosting booths at community festivals.
